President Wickremesinghe instructed the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) to prepare a program to provide internet facilities to all schools with educational facilities within two years.
The President instructed to prepare a joint program of public and private universities to produce 10,000 engineering and technology graduates and 5,000 medical graduates per year, and also informed to appoint a suitable committee for this purpose and prepare and submit a report.
The President also explained the need to integrate more than 350 government-run technical and vocational training institutes and implement training programs.
President Wickremesinghe pointed out the need to prepare a unified single labor law (Unified Labor Law) as the existing labor laws consist of many sources that affect the workers, and asked the Ministry of Labor and Foreign Employment to submit the necessary bill for its enforcement by the coming month of May. Officers were advised.
