It is reported that a 15-year-old student who allegedly sexually assaulted an 8-year-old student in the Vakkakulam area of Vavuniya was arrested by the Vuvuniya police yesterday (28).
According to reports, after the end of the school, the suspect student took the other student to a house, kept him in that house for the whole night and assaulted the student and seriously sexually assaulted him. The family has complained to the Vavuniya Police because the school student did not return home after going to school. Both students were then arrested by the police.
The student who is said to have been sexually assaulted has been admitted to the Vavuniya General Hospital and the officers of the Children and Women’s Unit of the Vavuniya Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
