It is reported that a young woman was injured and another person lost his life after being hit by a young man with a sharp weapon in Avissawella, Baduwatta area.
A young man staying at the deceased’s house had a romantic relationship with the deceased’s daughter. The young woman was attacked with a sharp weapon after an argument between the two went too far. At that time, the young man also attacked the father who intervened. The two victims were injured and admitted to the Avissawella hospital for treatment, where the father is said to have died.
The 25-year-old suspect involved in the incident has been arrested by Avissawella police.
