The Doctors’ Union Organization for Medical and Civil Rights and Anti-Bribery and Corruption and Alleging that the Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Mr. Janaka Sri Chandragupta, has used footnotes in the special appeals submitted by the concerned company in order to benefit one company in the procurement process of buying contact lenses. It is reported that the National Front has complained to the Inspector General of Police and the Bribery Commission yesterday (02).
The organizations have stated in their complaint that nearly one billion rupees will be spent in this procurement for the purchase of nearly one lakh contact lenses, and as a result, a comprehensive investigation should be conducted and the procurement process should be restarted.
In the relevant procurement process, the companies that submitted the lowest bids were not even given the opportunity to get samples, and the companies that submitted the highest bids were taken advantage of. Since the intervention of the Secretary of the Ministry of Health is a clear irregularity, Mr. Chandragupta was immediately removed from his position and investigations were conducted under the Financial Crimes Act. It has been further mentioned in the complaint.
