It is reported that the Chief Secretary of the Southern Province Mr. Sumit Alahakon has announced that the issuance of vehicle revenue licenses in the Southern Province has been temporarily stopped.
Accordingly, in order to introduce the new system of issuing vehicle revenue licenses, it has been informed that tomorrow (27th) and October 2nd, the Southern Province Motor Transport Department and all regional secretaries of the Southern Province will not be issuing revenue licenses.
Also, obtaining vehicle revenue licenses through the online system has been suspended from 12 midnight on September 24th to 12 midnight on October 6th and in order to prevent the inconvenience caused to vehicle owners due to non-issuance of revenue licenses, for revenue licenses expiring between tomorrow and October 6th at that time. It has also been decided not to levy fines.
