The Customer Service Authority has raided a rice warehouse in Ekala area.
According to the information received from the 1977 telephone number that the local rice was used for animal feed, the consumer affairs authority also stated that 21 metric tons of rice used for animal feed were found in this raid.
According to a gazette notification issued last July this year, the use of domestic or imported rice for animal feed was banned.
According to this, it has been revealed that the officials in charge of the store had used this rice for Taswa food in violation of this order.
Also steps have been taken to seal the rice stock and the suspects are scheduled to be produced before the Wattala Magistrate’s Court on January 6.
