Police investigations have revealed that the millionaire businessman who was shot dead in Panadura Pingwatta area while traveling in a luxury jeep was killed on the basis of a contract of twenty lakh rupees and the contract was given to the killer by a close relative of the same family.
The investigation department also says that the people who gave the contract will be able to be arrested today and tomorrow.
In relation to the murder, the shooter and the person riding the motorcycle were arrested by the police yesterday (05) with the firearm and after receiving a 48-hour detention order from the court, interrogations had started.
This businessman is a father of two children. He left his legal wife and was living with another woman in Panadura area and that woman was a cousin of the businessman’s wife. She is also a mother of two children.
A large house has also been built for her in Pingwatta area, where this person has given a large amount of assets for her.
He has also started legal proceedings to separate from his legal wife.
This businessman, his wife, the woman who later lived with him, the rider involved in this murder and the killer were all born and brought up in Elpitiya Thelikada.
