It is reported that a dead body of a mother who was floating in a lake with a one-year-old baby was found today (23).
Magamani Dayani, a 26-year-old mother of one and her one-year-old daughter, who lived in Logi estate under Lidula police domain, have lost their lives.
The Lidula police say that the mother wrote a three-page letter stating that she and the child were being harassed by her husband and her husband’s family members, and that letter, her marriage certificate and national identity card were found near the lake.
Police Inspector Sisira Kumara, Station Commander of Lidula Police, said that it is suspected that the woman may have jumped into the lake near her house in Lidula Logi Estate with Sigittia and harmed herself.
It is said that the body of the woman was floating in the lake and the body of the infant disappeared in the lake.
