It is reported that the operational capacity of the Port Authority has increased by 2% due to the increase in the efficiency of container operations at Jaya Bahalu and East Bahalu Terminals.
The Sri Lanka Ports Authority says that there has been an increase in container operations at Jaya Bahalu Terminal and East Bahalu Terminal in the last year (2023).
Accordingly, in the year 2023, these two terminals have handled nineteen lakh sixty five thousand four hundred twenty eight (1,965,128) containers and achieved a growth of 2%.
The Sri Lanka Ports Authority says that although there will be a percentage decrease in container operations in 2022, due to the import and export situation in the world market and the gradual recovery of Sri Lanka’s economy, there will be an increase in container operations.
And last year, Colombo Port has achieved a growth of 1.17% through container operations.
