It is reported that Aluthgama police has arrested a police inspector on suspicion of sexually assaulting a trainee nurse who was traveling in a Langama bus in service uniform.
According to the report, it was in a Langama bus running from Colombo to Aluthgama yesterday evening (27th) and the police officer was in civilian clothes at that time.
It is said that after the young woman stated that the suspect touched the nurse’s chest area in the bus, the people in the bus beat the suspect and handed him over to the police.
It is reported that the suspect is a 54-year-old Chief Inspector of Police who works as the Station Officer of the Complaints Division of a police station belonging to the Kalutara Police Division.
It is said that the suspect is going to be presented before the Kalutara Magistrate.
