It is reported that the Ministry of Commerce stated that the increase in the price of food items including chicken meat and fish is temporary and the situation may last for the next week or two.
But the All Ceylon Poultry Businessmen’s Association has stated that it is not possible to sell products at high prices and that steps have been taken to take related legal measures and that the increased price of chicken meat will come down within the next few weeks.
Also, Mr. Ajith Gunasekara, President of All Ceylon Poultry Businessmen’s Association, has mentioned that the price of chilled chicken meat has not been increased.
