It is reported that the Child and Women Bureau of Ambanpola Police has arrested a person named Theranam who allegedly sexually assaulted an 11-year-old minor girl.
The police have arrested a 59-year-old Theranama who works and lives in a temple in Medavachchiya – Vanamalgollawa area.
The arrest was made in Ambanpola city.
It is said that the girl who has been molested has been studying in the 07th year of a school in the area and the girl has been referred to Nikaveratiya Basic Hospital for a medical examination.
The arrested suspect, Theranama, is to be presented to the Mahawa Magistrate’s Court.
