It is reported that the Secretary of the Treasury, Mr. Mahinda Siriwardena, has informed that no new recruitments will be made in the public service in the coming year, and no provision will be made for it.
He stated this while issuing a series of guidelines related to the preparation of budget estimates for next year.
He has further mentioned that based on the number of employees as of June 30 of this year, estimates of wages and other allowances will be prepared for the next year.
