Examination Commissioner General Amit Jayasundara stated that although about 19,000 teachers are needed for the evaluation of advanced level examinations, almost 13,000 applications have been received so far.
Therefore, the commissioner further stated that the period for accepting these applications, which was to end on the last eighth, had to be postponed indefinitely.
Also, the Commissioner General of Examinations Mr. Amit Jayasundara emphasized that there is a shortage of teachers mainly for evaluation activities in the science stream and there is a shortage of about 6000 teachers for evaluation activities.
