It is reported that health workers say that there has been a shortage of syringes in many government hospitals in this country.
They state that the suspension of supplies by the medical supply department due to the quality of syringes related to an approved syringe tender has led to this situation.
Health workers further mention that the supply has been suspended due to complaints that some syringes were contaminated with water vapor and various types of oil and 10 ml and 20 ml syringes are not in stock in the medical supply department.
Also, there is currently a small stock of 5 ml syringes in the hospitals.
Health workers further state that the stock of syringes will also run out in the next month due to increased use of smaller syringes for 20 ml and 10 ml syringe requirements.
