It is reported that three suspects who entered a house at Katuawala Mawatha, Boralasgamuwa on the 12th and robbed a housemaid of gold and cash were arrested yesterday (03) at Bellantota Junction and Maharagama town.
The police seized 24 pounds of stolen gold, 10,400 US dollars, 925,000 rupees, a live hand grenade made in a foreign country and 23 grams and 600 milligrams of heroin found in their possession.
The arrested suspects are identified as Lena, Alla and Mike, and are said to be a hotel owner, an aluminum worker and a driver.
They are 31 and 43 years old residents of Ulapane and Maharagama and it is reported that all the three suspects are to be produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court today (04).
It is also stated that three arrest warrants have been issued to one of these three suspects by the Kaduwela court.
