It is reported that two excise officers who were engaged in a drug raid were cut and injured and one of them was hospitalized yesterday (31) afternoon.
The Matugama Police has further stated that two officers working in the Malambe area of Colombo have been assaulted and one officer who suffered cuts has been referred to the Kalutara Teaching Hospital.
According to reports, the suspects took the concerned officials to Matugama, Sirikadula area and took away the money from the officials, and a conflict between the two groups has arisen.
It is said that the suspects involved in the incident have been identified and investigations are being conducted to find them.
