Police officers, who are supposed to guide the public and work for public order, while receiving salaries from public money, should file criminal charges under the Ceylon Penal Code when they commit an offence. Apart from that, it should also be dealt with under the Institutions Code or the Police Administrative Law.
Even though the existing law is like that, no such law has been implemented against Rakwana Police Station Commander, who was under various charges, and has only been transferred to Bandarawela Police Station near his village, Welimada, as normal duties.
