It is reported that a fisherman who was on a multi-day vessel suffered burns due to an accident in the deep sea area, which is about 431 nautical miles from Galle, southwest of Sri Lanka.
On June 22, the multi-day fishing vessel “Sachintha Son” sailed from the Negombo fishing port with five fishermen and the vessel collided with a foreign vessel in the deep sea area from Galle to the southwest of Sri Lanka. The Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources has informed the Navy that due to an attack by the foreign vessel at that time, one of the fishermen on the multi-day vessel sustained burns.
It is said that the merchant ship “Spar Mira” of the Navy operating there brought the fisherman with burns to land for treatment.
