It is reported that two suspects who tried to illegally bring a stock of insecticides to Sri Lanka have been taken into custody by the Navy.
The suspects were arrested during a special search operation in Kalpitiya, Karaithiv and Paliyawatta sea areas.
During the observation and inspection of a suspicious dinghy sailing along the relevant sea area, this stock of insecticides packed in fifteen bags was found.
The arrested suspects are 43 and 46 years old residents of Kalpitiya area.
They have taken steps to hand over to the Katunayake Customs Office for further legal proceedings.
