It is reported that the Sri Lanka Postal Department has stated that its official website does not facilitate any online transactions.
Recently, information was revealed regarding a fraudulent act of creating a fake website similar to the official website of the Department of Posts and obtaining the credit card and debit card information of the public.
In informing about it, the postal department has emphasized that its website has not facilitated any such kind of online transaction and that fraudsters have misused the website of its department.
This scam has been carried out by sending a text message to the people online through the relevant website saying that a small payment should be made for a parcel that has been ordered.
The department has further stated that if any complaint, inquiry or clarification is required in this regard, contact the 1950 emergency call department or the postal headquarters.
