It is reported that the evidentiary hearing in the case assigned against Mr. Wimal Weerawansa, the Member of Parliament, under the charge of owning nearly 75 million rupees in money and property, has been postponed until the 8th of November.
That was today (27th) when the case was called before Colombo High Court Judge Navaratne Marasinghe.
The defendant Mr. Wimal Weerawansa did not appear before the court and the President’s lawyer Mr. Shavendra Fernando, who appeared for the defendant, stated before the court that he was ill.
Accordingly, the judge ordered to adjourn the hearing and submit a medical report on the defendant’s illness to the court on that day.
