It is reported that the World Bank has decided to extend the aid received for the agricultural modernization project for another one and a half years.
Accordingly, it is stated that the World Bank has agreed to provide an amount of 30 billion dollars for the maintenance of these projects for another 18 months from May.
That is the way the Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera decided in the discussion held with the representatives of the World Bank recently.
It is stated that the World Bank has taken this decision as a response to the minister’s request to provide the necessary support for the ongoing projects as they are a great strength for the agricultural activities.
