Inflation rose again in January.
According to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, inflation rose to 14.2% in January.
Inflation in December stood at 12.1%, with food and non-food inflation rising in January.
Food inflation rose to 25% in January from 22.1% in the previous month, the Central Bank said.
Inflation in the non-food category rose to 9.2% in January from 7.5% in December.
The central bank said higher prices of rice, fruits, milk powder and bread in January had pushed up inflation.
