It is reported that this committee has been appointed to focus on the occasional written requests to the President to change the positions of chairman and board of directors of state corporations, statutory boards and state-owned enterprises without prior agreement and some informal appointments.
In this regard, a letter has been sent directly to all the secretaries of the ministries with the signature of the President’s Secretary, and copies have been sent to the Prime Minister’s Secretary and the Ministry of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policy for making the necessary arrangements.
Meanwhile, Pohottu Party Member of Parliament Mr. Namal Rajapaksa has also proposed two names for the chief executive position of GSMB Technical Services (Pvt) Ltd, which operates under the Bureau of Geological Survey and Mines.
It is stated that the MP Namal Rajapaksa has submitted this request in writing to Mr. Nasir Ahmed, the minister in charge of environment subject under the parliamentary letter heading.
