Sri Nissanka Mayadunne, National Organizer of the Ravana Lanka National Organization has made a revelation regarding a construction that is being carried out by trampling on the historical heritage.
It is mentioned in the history that this ancient temple of Ranmini Kotha which belongs to the Embilipitiya Divisional Secretariat was built by King Saddhatissa.
However, the Udawalawe OIC has not yet taken action to investigate the complaint lodged with the Udawalawe Police regarding all the evidence regarding this destruction, although it has been about three months since yesterday (30).
Nissanka Mayadunne has pointed out that although complaints have been lodged with the Director General of Archeology as well as the Senior DIG of Ratnapura, the law has not been complied with so far.
Investigations into these incidents have revealed that Ratnapura District Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi had some connection, but the question arises as to whether someone like her would support such a heinous act.
However, in a context where these officials have to work to protect their country’s heritage, what is the reason for their dormant program? Whose influence? Should focus on.
Who is protecting the Udawalawe OIC who is not enforcing the law despite all the evidence that such destruction is taking place in his country and in his area of jurisdiction?
Is it necessary for the Department of Archeology as a pillow for politicians to wait for the sole responsibility of those who are responsible for the protection of archeological sites in the country to see such antiquities being extinct in such a background?
Following is the revelation made by the National Organizer of the Ravana Lanka National Organization, Sri Nissanka Mayadunne.
