Even today, the ruling class in Sri Lanka, as well as some defenses, are working against the people. The Sri Lanka Police is also operating as an illegal armed underworld member. It is the people as well as the illegal police officers who are getting involved in a number of problems day by day without even being able to imagine what the end will be.
Meanwhile, Janaka Ratnayake, Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission says that although a revision of electricity tariff will not be made soon in line with the increase in fuel prices, it will be done after consulting the public.
We would also like to ask the public whether they have 21 days from today (June 28) to submit their views on the amendment and whether they say that the relevant proposals can be submitted by e-mail or fax.
How many people in this country know how to fax and email to get public comments? It is clear that the well-being of these state institutions is so great that they have not yet recognized the suffering of the people.
It is clear that public servants in the corporate, board and banking sectors do not understand the suffering of the people in the face of the enormous salaries they receive among the suffering, non-eating, suffering people. It goes without saying that the Palak class also does not understand many things.
As a government, we must put an end to all activities that provoke the people. Public officials should not carry out their duties to protect the salaries of the people. We, therefore, strongly oppose the proposed increase in electricity. If the people are provoked and persecuted by the increase in electricity tariff, it is not the responsibility of the President or the government. Janaka Ratnayake, Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission and other officials are bringing this proposal to the public.
